Update

It's been a while, yes....
Scott recorded his first save in a playoff game last night for the Bulls.
His saves on the regular season come in at 20.
Take a look here for the rest of his stats--------------------------------------->

That was lazy, wasnt' it?

16/16

Scott continues to take advantage of his role as closer, with 16 saves in as many opportunites.
His ERA is on its way down, and his K's continue to climb.

Update

In spite of his elevated ERA, Scott leads the Bulls with 12 saves.
I'm sure it won't take long for his ERA to come back down.

Update

I know it's been a while, but you can only report so much about Scott in Durham.
He's got the lowest ERA and WHIP on the team.
*whew*
Shocker.

Anyways. That's what's going on.
In other news, the Rays are playing great baseball. They're fun to watch, even without Scott there.

Go Rays!

Business As Usual

"..From there the Durham bullpen took over. Scott Dohmann, who just returned from Tampa, threw two scoreless innings, as did Juan Salas..."

Reassigned

Scott is on his way back to Durham after being reassigned.
I can barely contain my excitement.

Update

Scott has thrown in consecutive games against the Red Sox.
He got roughed up the first night (saturday), but fared better today.
Despite losing both games, the Rays continue to play well.

Update

Well, Scott got roughed up a little in his last outing, giving up his first HR of the season.
All in a day's work.
We got that out of the way, now... on to bigger and better things.

*I'm also late on a congratulations to Brian Fuentes (Scott's close friend), who settled back down into his role as closer over in Colorado.*

What?

Two wins in two nights?
Both Scott and the Rays?
Papi last night and Ramirez tonight?

Life is good. The Rays are good.

Here's Scott sitting Manny down: http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?mid=200804262595263

Update

Wow..!
Just when I was wondering how long it would be before Scott throws again.... he comes into a tied game with runners on first and third.
He faced only one batter - Big Papi. Papi grounded into a double play to end the inning!
Haynes and Crawford sealed the win in the next inning, handing Scott his first 'W' of the season.
Congratulations to the Rays on the win and Scott for his first win.

Update

Scott threw another 3 innings last night, handing out 3 K's with no runs. It's good to see him stretch his arm out a bit with these long outings. I don't think he's thrown this many consecutive innings since he was a starter!

Keep it up!

Update

Scott threw an impressive 3 2/3 innings last night, giving up 4 hits and nothing else. It was his longest outing of the year so far, and a great one at that.
Congratulations to Longoria on his first homerun!

We Just Kicked The S*%t Out Of The Yankees

Pardon my French, but I absolutely loved watching that game.
In New York.
In the cold.
Between Cliff Floyd and Carlos Pena, I'm waiting to see some confetti fly out of the ball when they swing.
Great pitching, great offense.

Scott came in and threw a great 9th inning.
I loved it.
I loved it.

Update

Scott's first appearance in the regular season was a successful one - he faced one batter and struck him out to end a rough 8th inning.
The Rays fell to the Orioles 9-6.

Just My Opinion..

It looks like Scott has secured the final spot in the bullpen.
Dare I say it again? - Scott has really never had a great preseason.
I would like to point out a few things:
1. His walks are down (which to me indicates that he is throwing more strikes), which also means he is likely to get hit more often.
2. In spite of more hits, he hasn't given up any HR's in preseason.
3. His strikeouts are impressive as usual (10 in 11.1 innings).

If he continues this pace, with walks down and throwing more strikes, he'll get back to his comfort zone soon.

I'm excited and ready for opening day.

Quiet Update....

I've been pretty quiet during Spring Training because I don't want to jinx Scott in any way.
However, he did pick up a save after having a rough outing last week.
That's all I'm going to say.
No more talking.
Shhhh.
..
.

C'mon Scott, give 'em the good stuff!

The St. Petersburg Times ran a great article on Scott today.
You can read it here.

Getting Closer

Well, as the Super Bowl closes in, so does the beginning of Spring Training. It's tough to say goodbye to Scott, Tara and the kids... but it's time for him to get back to work.
I look forward to the start of the season with the Rays.

Hopefully I can squeeze one last round of golf in with Scott before he leaves.

Farewell

Another season has closed for Scott and his fan site. Looks like it's time for golf and hunting.... I may post some pictures of that during the offseason.
We'll be back next season. Enjoy the playoffs and World Series!
