KC starts their series with the Twins today......

Holdin' It Down

Although KC lost, Scott threw 2 beautiful innings. Four strikeouts, no runs.

Well....

The last few outings have been rough, including a few homeruns.
I'm guessing it's taking a while to hammer out whatever problems Scott was having earlier in the season.
Regardless, his slider is one devastating pitch....

Update

Although the Royals dropped both games today to the Tribe, Scott threw very well.
A perfect inning in the first game, and one batter with 2 inherited runners in the second game.
He gave up no runs.

Hopefully tomorrow the Royals will fare better against the Indians.

Royals Win! Royals Win!

I should be in bed right now, but I just watched Scott throw a masterful 1.2 innings of work to get the win!!
1 hit, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts, no runs.
The 2 K's were Youkilis and Pena.
The bottom of the 9th was the setting for the comeback win. German led off with a triple, scored by DeJesus' sac fly. Grudzy followed with a double, and knocked in by Sweeney for the win.

Probably the most exciting ending I have seen this year.

Thoughts

You know, even though players are traded all of the time, it is probably tough to adjust to.
In Scott's situation, he is not only coming to a new team, but a new league as well. From the National League where he was beginning to learn the hitters not only by reputation, but by preferences. Now that he is in the American League, where he doesn't know the hitters at all other than by name.
It has to be tough, but Scott is up to the challenge.

Back Up On The Horse

After a rough outing Friday night, Scott thew 2 innings last night against the Twins.
One earned run, a few walks.. but at least they got him back in the game to throw.

I'm a little upset about the lack of support that he is getting from fans, but that's ok too.
Scott will get himself back up where he know he can be.

Wild Pitch?

When I think of a wild pitch, I think of the ball going over the catcher, or a foot before the plate, or even 'aim for the mascot!'. But I saw the so called 'wild pitch' last night.... it was a bit low, but catchable.
I'm not making excuses for Scott. I know it wasn't a perfect pitch. I'm not blaming the catcher, either. I am just explaining what I saw.. more or less for the people who read the stats and see that Scott got the loss due to a wild pitch. It really didn't go down that way at all.

It seems there is always an obstacle in the way of Scott's performance. A blemish that stands out...

No way to go but up!
Keep trudging ahead!

Great first inning, a little shaky in the 2nd one.
The highlight was plunking Konerko (unintentional, of course).

Meeting The Team

Closer to Kansas City than Shealy was -- Memphis as opposed to Denver -- Dohmann got to the ballpark during the sixth inning of Monday's game and was soon outfitted with a cap and uniform. He was activated and available to pitch. Before that, though, he touched base with his manager and new teammates, creating an entry scene similar to Roy Hobbs' in "The Natural."
"Actually, he walked through the dugout here," Bell said. "I wasn't quite sure who it was. I thought it was a man off the street."

Here's to Scott's fresh start at his new home:
